Two of my photographs have been chosen for a multi-category exhibition titled, GAIA – Age of Climate Change, a special event affiliated with the Global Climate Action Summit (see the listing on the summit’s page here).
One photograph depicts Gaia in her serene magnificence as the goddess of the earth. This was modeled for by Pickles LaVey, and shot in natural light at the Redwood Regional Park in Oakland. Pickles LaVey also made Gaia’s ‘flowy’ attire.

The other photograph shows a burdened Gaia in the industrial era. This was shot in a studio with a small manzanita tree as a sort of gobo between the key-light (with a snoot modifier) and the Bay Area’s pre-eminent model, Candace Nirvana. Another light was double-gelled in yellow color – directed at the background and allowed to spill over on to the model’s back.
